Lionel Messi’s F50 adiZero adidas football boots

Introduced in August 2010 by adidas, the F50 adiZero football boots were created especially for Lionel Messi – the world famous Argentine footballer who currently plays for FC Barcelona. The new Messi adidas F50 adiZero football boots are mostly metallic gold in colour, fit for a football star of Messi’s calibre.

So what do these football boots look like? For starters – they are metallic gold in colour, and very attractive looking. With black laces, black adidas stripes and black cleats, and with a hint of white, the gold provides a perfect background colour, and does not look gaudy or too loud.

The upper versions of the adidas football boots are a super slim 165 grams in weight, which makes these adidas’ most revolutionary football boot to date as well as their lightest! So how are these boots so light? Adidas has created two new advanced technologies to dramatically reduce the weight of the boot, while also maintaining its stability – these are Sprint Skin and Sprint Frame.

The Sprint Skin single layer synthetic provides reduced weight and excellent ball control, and almost feels like a second skin. The most obvious benefit of the skin is the zero water uptake – this means your boots will not get heavy, even when they are wet. Sprint Frame is another feature which is on the outsole, which helps increase stability through geometry. The F50 adiZero football boot cleats also have a new outer surface material, which helps give greater ball grip in all types of conditions.

These adidas football boots adopt an asymmetric parallel lacing system which creates a greater, cleaner kicking surface. The top of the lace area is also rather wide, which means that your laces won’t get in the way much. There is a new ‘Taperlace’ system, which is a specially developed lace that reduces the material between the foot and the ball.

The boot also features new triangular Traxion studs, which are aptly placed across the sole unit, which help distribution of pressure. These studs on the FG plate also give improved directional grip. This design of the last is unique to the F50 series, and differs from the Predator and adiPure, which tend to have a wider yet flatter footbed. Because the studs are positioned closer to the outside of the sole, you get increased stability, and improved directional grip.

The new metallic gold Lionel Messi F50 adiZero adidas football boots hit the market from early September 2010, and cost around £125.
